Test match in India has it’s own fan base and responsibilities for the spinners getting high. After defeating Australia with 2-1 India is all set for the England series which will start from 5th February. Now all the focus have shifted to spinner as we know almost every pitch in India is spinner friendly pitch so India most likely to go with their three spinner against in the first test against England at M.A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
The Indian team saw the pitch yesterday during the practice session and they understood that there will be some bounce on Day 1 with Day 2 and 3 being superb for batting and ball turning on the last two days.
R. Ashwin and K. Yadav will be the first two choice for the spinners while management will decide between Axar Patel and W. Sundar that who would be the third option.
While the six batsman might be Rohit Sharma, Subhman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant apart from this Hardik Pandya who will join the practice session today.
Another difficult thing would be to choose between Ishant Sharma and man in form Mohammad Siraj for the second seamer slot while Jasprit Bumrah is the first choice.
For England point of view the things are looking simple specially in the bowling department with Ben Stokes being the pace bowling all-rounder, including James Anderson and Jofra Archer who will take the responsibility of pace bowling department while the two spinner would be Dom Bess and left arm spinner Jack Leach.
This series is important for both the team because the world test championship will be held this year. So many things depend on this series and people might get to know who would play the test championship final.
