Guwahati, January 18, 2025: A training programme on “Communication Skills & Work Ethics” was conducted at the Regional Resource Centre-NE in Guwahati on Thursday. While Nurul Islam Laskar, renowned PR consultant of the region, conducted the programme as the principal resource person, he was assisted by Babiba Sultana, a digital marketing expert. The participants were largely medical consultants who constitute the workforce of the Centre.
In her inaugural address, Dr Raj Prabha Moktan, Director, RRC-NE, said, “The Regional Resource Centre for the North Eastern States (RRC-NE) was established in Guwahati in November 2005 by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoH&FW), NE Division, Government of India with financial assistance from European Commission to support the eight NE states including Sikkim for technical assistance in health sector.” Later on, the RRC-NE was merged with National Health System Resource Centre (NHSRC) of Govt of India and it was mandated to work with the states to identify core areas to be focussed in the short, medium, and long run, and plan for further enhancing their technical and managerial capacity.
The authorities of the Centre realised that if the soft skills of the of their workforce is honed and enhanced, they would be able to serve their target groups more effectively. With this objective in view, the programme on communication skills and work ethics was organised. The resource persons dealt with written communication, audio-visual communication, verbal communication in professional settings, leadership skills, time management, teamwork and collaboration in course of the programme.
The participants were provided opportunity to do a structured self-assessment at the end of the sessions. A healthcare quiz was also organised in which Dr Jyoti Smita and Anushka Sain were rewarded for giving 100% correct answers. While the audio-visual aspects of the programme were ably taken care of by Gautam Rajbangshi, IT Manager, the anchoring was done by Pumani Kalita, Consultant, CP. The programme was coordinated by Nazia B Laskar, Office Secretary and her team.
