In a fervent display of patriotism, Amit Shah, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, launched the “Tiranga Yatra” campaign as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Sunday. In his address, Shah emphasized the monumental struggle undertaken by our forefathers to secure India’s independence, highlighting their unwavering dedication to this noble cause.
“The sacrifices of our ancestors have left an indelible legacy for the youth of our nation.” With profound respect for the martyrs, Shah called upon the entire country to ensure the success of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign by hoisting the Indian flag in every household. This act would commemorate the Indian flag from August 13th to 15th as a symbol of the nation’s pride, honour, and glory.
With a population of 60 million and nearly 10 million households, Gujarat possesses the potential to transform into a land adorned with the tricolor, resonating patriotism and unity across the nation. Shah urged citizens to celebrate the “Azadi ka Amritkaal” from August 15th, 2023, to 2047, the 100th year of independence. This vision sets the collective goal of building a self-reliant and prosperous India.
As torchbearers of the ‘Meri Mati-Mera Desh’ program, youth from across the country will convene in Delhi, presenting soil and the tricolor to the Prime Minister. Shah underscored that just as the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” ignited the flames of patriotism, the ‘Meri Mati-Mera Desh’ initiative will solidify our commitment to a developed and self-reliant India soon.
Over the past nine years, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has achieved remarkable developmental milestones. Numerous campaigns have been launched to instil the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of its citizens. The collective efforts of Modi and Shah have nurtured a robust sense of national pride among the masses on their journey to elevate India’s status.
From 1857 to 1947, millions of patriots sacrificed their lives to secure India’s liberation, resulting in the nation evolving into the world’s largest democracy. This journey has paved the way for 75 years of progress. Furthermore, the Modi-shah duo made efforts to immortalize unsung heroes and significant locations tied to the freedom struggle, that shaped the nation’s identity.
Over the past nine years, India has gained global recognition and currently stands as the 5th largest economy worldwide. During his two-day visit to Gujarat, the Home Minister inaugurated and dedicated various developmental projects, thereby further solidifying the state’s progress.
