Guwahati, November 14, 2024: The Guwahati Theatre Society marked its debut on the cultural stage with the much-anticipated premiere of Sarkari Investigator, an Assamese adaptation of Nikolai Gogol’s satirical masterpiece The Government Inspector. The evening at the Shri ShriMadhavdeva International Auditorium at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra was a resounding success, attracting an audience of over 250 theatre lovers who were captivated by the compelling blend of humor and social critique. Audience thoroughly enjoyed the play and there were big round of applause for the entire team at the end of the play.
Directed by the seasoned Gayatri Sharma, President of the Guwahati Theatre Society, this adaptation resonated deeply with the audience, delivering a powerful message on corruption that felt both timeless and relevant to today’s world.
