Leading Assamese OTT platform, Reeldrama, has announced the successful streaming of its newest web series ‘L’ directed by Pervez Ahmed.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on August 17, director Pervez Ahmed highlighted the motivation behind the web series ‘L’ – of longing, love, lust, lost, loneliness, life, and learning about life narrated through a driving school.
“Today roads are getting overcrowded with traffic. ‘L’ depicts the emotional ride of 21 days to get a driving license. Along the way the protagonist discovers the true meaning of love and life,” said director Pervez Ahmed, who is an accomplished director for TV commercials for markets like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Middle East. His ad film for Philips was nominated at the Bangkok Ad-fest.
Streaming as an 8-episode series exclusively on the Reeldrama app and website, ‘L’ tells the story of Jitu who is from a small village and ends up in a big city dream somewhere abroad. Situations made him a driving school teacher for Rehana, Jacky, Satyavrat, Neha and Birju – all having their own reasons to learn driving. During the driving classes, Jitu meets love of his life Reema. Complications arise when Jitu realises that Reema encounters mood swings. The web series explores how the driving training enables trainer Jitu to discover the true meaning of love and life.
Produced by Reeldrama founder directors Kuheli Dasgupta and Sumit Dasgupta, in association with Pervez Ahmed, ‘L’ features a strong cast comprising Vivek Bora as Jeetu, Anooshka Gohain (Reema), Dr Santwana Bordoloi (Rehana), Dr Jayanta Das, Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika, Dr Chinmoy Chakravorty, Bably Bora, Snighda Gogoi, Rupam Chetiya, Dipankar Kalita, Gaurav Sureka and Debika Priyam.
