For the improper and filthy presentation of the town Mirzapur and outraging religious sentiments and belief, an FIR has been registered against the makers of Mirzapur Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani.
The web series , has been blamed for potraying the district of Mirzapur in a wrong and bad way and thus an FIR was filed against it’s makers on Friday. After the registration of an FIR the Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest warrant of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar ,the producers of the web series Mirzapur for being acused of making a web series which potrays the city Mirzapur in a dirty way and outraging religious beliefs accordingly.
Under the sections 295A,504,505 and 34 of IPC and 67A of IT Act, an FIR has been registered against Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar at Kotwali Dehat Police station in Mirzapur.
Offering full support and in the investigation , the division bench of Justices
Manoj Kumar Gupta and Subhash Chand has took over the petitioners, giving a sought of a big relief.
Listing the case in the first week of March , the court has issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh Government seeking the reply of the complainant after hearing a writ petition filed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
It was argued by the petioner counsel that no offense was made against the producers of the web series Mirzapur and there was so such deliberate intention to represent the city of Mirzapur in a filthy way and even hurting the religious beliefs and sentiments of the people of India or to insult their social feelings.
The court stated, “Having regards to the facts of the case and submissions made, till the next date of listening or till submission of Police report under section 173(2) CrPC , whichever is earlier no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioners in pursuance of the FIR registered. However, the petitioners shall offer full cooperation in the investigation”.
