Umrangso, November 8, 2024: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), proudly handed over a school bus to Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Haflong, Assam, enhancing educational access for students in the area. The bus will significantly ease the daily transportation challenges faced by students due to limited public transport options. Saraswati Vidya Mandir serves students from approximately 11 villages in the region, with a total enrolment of 250 students, including 100 residing in the school hostel. This initiative is expected to positively impact 80 to 100 students, ensuring dependable and safe transportation, improving their overall educational experience and attendance.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Padmanav Chakrabarty, Regional Manufacturing Head, North East, DCBL, said, “At Dalmia Bharat, we recognize that access to education is essential for empowering young minds and building a brighter future. By providing this school bus, we aim to ease students’ journeys to school, ensuring they can pursue their education safely and reliably. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to support rural education and create lasting, positive change in the communities we serve.”
