Assam Don Bosco University, which is the only University in the private sector in the State of Assam with Grade ‘A’ Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India (NAAC) has announced a whopping 4.95 crores worth of Scholarships for the admissions 2022-23
Announcing the Scholarship, the Vice Chancellor, Fr Stephen Mavely said, “We have hundreds of students who are receiving scholarships under our various scholarship schemes and this year, we are aiming to go miles higher in offering scholarships to the incoming students. We do this to encourage meritorious students to avail of the excellent academic ambience of Don Bosco University as well as to ensure equitable access to higher education for economically weaker sections of the society and persons with disabilities.”The University offers the following scholarships for on-campus students:
Scholarship Based on Merit: The University has made an amount of Rs 4,95,32,000 (Four croresninety-five lakhs thirty-two thousand) available in the form of Merit Scholarship based on students’ performance in the qualifying exam at the time of admission.
Scholarship Based on Economic Status: The University, on the basis of Economic Status offers scholarships to students who come from a family whose income is less than 2,00,000.00 per annum (to be certified by the Panchayat President or equivalent) fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria of the programme. (10,000 per Semester)
Scholarship Based on Disability: The University offers scholarships to those who are holding Disability Certificate from the Government. (10,000 per Semester)
Scholarships for Outstanding Sportspersons from NE India: The University has made an amount of Rs 16,40,000 available in the form of Tuition Fee Waiver for students who have represented any State in North East India in major Sporting Events. This Scholarship Scheme is given in appreciation to their outstanding achievement in Sports and to encourage them to keep on excelling in the same area. (5000 -10000 per semester)
Scholarship for Faculty: The University in its attempt to encourage its faculty members to engage in research has made Rs. 10,000 annually available to those who are pursuing PhD at Assam Don Bosco University. 39 faculty members have availed this Scholarship till date. (10,000 annually)
In addition, the University also offers Scholarships to students who prefer to pursue their higher studies in a distance mode. The University’s Center for Online and Distance Education offers a 100% fee Waiver to students all across North East India for Online Graduate Degree Program at DBU Global.
