Bollywood is all set to release a movie on one of Assam’s most controversial topics, the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The movie “Noise of Silence” which is based on true events is expected to be released across popular OTT platforms of Zee 5, VOOT, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc before the end of the year.
Directed by Saif Baidya, the movie is extensively shot in Tripura. Baidya said that he intended to portray the suffering of the lakhs of people of Assam during the NRC exercise on being left out.
“Noise of Silence” revolves around a couple that find themselves excluded from NRC list and a Rohingya Muslim girl who enters India in search of her mother.
“Through this movie, I wanted to inform people of the country about NRC and CAA. I am hopeful that the movie will reach people,” Baidya said.
Film’s associate producer Joysankar Bhattacharjee feels that Noise Of Silence will be a gateway to the Bollywood industry for the actors and technicians from Tripura.
While the majority of the cast are from Tripura including Hrishie Raj, and Sayantika Nath, it also features popular Bollywood faces like Firdaus Hassan, Ajay Khundal amongst others.
