New Delhi: Gulam Nabi Azad from Congres on Tuesday 9th February 2021 shares his farewell speech in Rajya Sabha he thanked Indian Prime Minister and said he feels proud that he is a Hindustani Muslim as well as he states thar every muslim should feel proud for the same.
In his speech he said he feels fortunate as he never went to Pakistan. He says he is among those fortunate people who never went to Pakistan and when he reads about the circumstances of Pakistan he feels proud that he belongs to India.
He also paid tribute to former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said from Atal Bihari Vajpayee he learned how to run the House. He said ““I learned a lot from Atal ji…how to break the deadlock and how to run the House”
Former Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad also Thanked PM Narendra Modi in his farewell speech in Rajya Sabha. He said that PM Modi never took his words personally in the house and separated personal and politics.
Gulam Nabi Azad said “There were times when we had verbal fights. But you [PM Modi] never took my words personally”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day shared his views regarding Gulam Nabi Azad’s retirement. PM Modi Broke down while sharing one incident. PM Modi said that during some terrorist attack on Gujarati Pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir Gulam Nabi Azad was the first one to call him about the incident. He further added that Gulam Nabi Azad cried on the call while informing him about the above mentioned attack. PM Modi’s eyes rolled down with teared when he said “Azad was the first person to call me. During that call he could not stop crying”
Gulam Mabi Azad retires from Rajya Sabha on February 15th 2021. He was one of the leaders from Opposition Party Indian National Congress. Chairmen of Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu described Gulam Nabi Azad as a voice of sanity in public life over few decades.
