Indian skipper Virat Kholi showed heartwarming gesture for England captain Joe Root. Captain Virat Kholi showed great gesture of sportsmanship for Joe Root just before the end of the Day 1 of first test match.
After hitting a massive six of R. Ashwin’s last delivery Root went down on the floor with a cramp. England physio was coming for the help but before physio came Virat went to Root and helped him with stretching his right leg. This heartwarming gesture won the heart of many fans. BCCI also shared this pic on twitter.
Meanwhile, Root and Dom Sibley put England in control in the first Test, with 200 runs partnership in the first test match at Chennai. At stumps, England’s score read 263/3, with Root playing on 128 runs. However, India ended the day on a high as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sibley (87) in the 90th over.
England won the toss and elected to bat first and they had a great start India did had a very good opportunity to send Burns back to the pavilion cheaply but the wicket-keeper, Rishabh Pant, dropped the catch off Bumrah’s first delivery of the second over.
After that both the batsman played with patience. Ashwin got the first wicket of Burns in the score of 33 in the 24th over and after that Bumrah took the wicket of Dan Lawrence in the score of 0.
Root, along with Sibley, steadied England’s innings and played some fine shots and build the partnership and kept score board running.
Root and Sibley were not playing any risky shots but then Bumrah again did a great job. He dismissed Sibley in the 90th over. Now the scores are England 263/3 and Root is bating on 128.
