In a bid to endorse and make students learn about the rich and vibrant culture of Assam, Modern English School (MES) Guwahati, one of the premier educational institutions in the country celebrated Pre-Magh Bihu at its premises with unprecedented enthusiasm.
The celebration witnessed extensive participation of students and teachers and involved traditional dances and songs along with the burning of a Bhela Ghar.
Also known as Meji, Bhela Ghar is an important part of the Bihu celebrations and symbolises the end of the old and the beginning of the new. It is a sign of renewal and hope for the upcoming year. The students and teachers jointly built the Bhela Ghar, reflecting unprecedented community spirit at the school.
Students and teachers also danced, cheered, and sang traditional Bihu songs post the burning of the Bhela Ghar.
MES has always focussed on the holistic development of students and believes in keeping children rooted in their culture and land.
