Modern English School’s students Raksha Borua of class 11 and Garima Das of class 10 has made the school proud by winning silver and bronze medals respectively in the 38th State Taekwondo Championship held in Guwahati. The championship was organised by All Assam Taekwondo Association saw the participation of 38 districts with over 1200 competitors.
Speaking about the achievements Abhijit Gogoi, Taekwondo Coach at Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati says, “It is indeed a proud moment for us with Raksha and Garima shining as winners in the State Taekwondo Championship. With Modern English School’s effort in providing the infrastructures to their students who want to excel in sports along with academics, I am confident that we will see many such achievements coming our way in future too.”
In the competition, both the cadet girls and boys team of Kamrup (M) bagged top position in Kyorugi event in the 38th State Taekwondo Championship held at the DTRP Indoor Stadium on Monday. While in the boys category Moran and Sonitpur bagged second and third place in the girls section Dibrugarh finished second and the third place were jointly shared by Darrang and Bajali respectively.
