Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati today observed the occasion of Pre-Bohag with a vibrant and culturally rich celebration.
Bohag Bihu is an ethnic festival that celebrates the beginning of the Assamese New Year. It is observed on April 14 every year and fosters cultural harmony among diverse native communities.
The occasion witnessed the students of the school demonstrating their exceptional talents with Bihu songs and dances, welcoming the upcoming Assamese New Year with unprecedented zeal.
The students also showcased their impressive knowledge and understanding of the diverse aspects of Assam’s rich culture, economic progress and historical significance. The grand celebration served as a testament to the school’s efforts to instil a holistic education that promotes an appreciation for the country’s multifaceted history, traditions and customs.
In addition to the cultural performances, Mrs Jonali Das, Principal of Modern English School also inaugurated the Bihu display board which was embellished with elaborate decorations. The board served as an educational tool for students to comprehend the diverse rituals and customs associated with Bohag Bihu.
