Nike has now introduced its ‘ISPA Mindbody’ sneaker, featuring a deliberately worn-in aesthetic. A departure from the brand‘s sleek style, these sneakers exude a completely tattered and worn-out appearance.
Available in mud-coloured and neon green variations, these sneakers were launched earlier this year with a hefty price tag of $180 (approximately Rs 14,750). Held together with a single cording system instead of glue, they are designed to be easily disassembled, as stated on the official website. Moreover, the sneakers can be recycled when returned to a Nike boutique when you are done using them. “There’s no need to take them apart or throw them away. Simply drop ’em off at a participating Nike store and they’ll be given a new life through donation or recycling.”
Described as “the new definition of R&R,” these sneakers boast an inviting and pillowy foam midsole that offers a sensory oasis, as per the description.
These sneakers are constructed using interlocking components, with a focus on using fewer materials. The stretchy and supportive FlyKnit upper is made from recycled yarn, resulting in a seamless look that feels incredibly lightweight, as mentioned on the website.
