GUWAHATI: Assam will be the first state in the country to allow Covid-recovered persons to enter the state without undergoing a second test on arrival.
“This decision has been taken on the basis of scientific evidence and we are the first in the country to introduce it. But it will not be applicable to symptomatic passengers,” state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“Such Covid-recovered passengers will have to produce the necessary Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) certificate and the hospital discharge papers on arrival.” He added
Assam currently has crossed 1,67,374 cases as of 25th September and has over 30,000 active cases.
