Three days expo on livestock-aqua-poultry ends on Thursday (20th April 2023) at Maniram Dewan Trade center, Guwahati.
Shri Tage Taki, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Veterinary, Fisheries, Arunachal Pradesh graced the valedictory function of NELAP Expo as Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present were Pravash Pradhan, Convenor, NELAP Expo, Dr V K Gupta, Director, ICAR-NRCP and Dr. Basant Kumar Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI and Dr L Narasimhamurthy, Senior Executive Director, NFDB.
Delivering the valedictory address, Shri Taki said there are huge potential for the development of piggery, poultry and fisheries in the North Eastern Region. He further added that we have to educate the farmers of the region in breed selection, adoption of new technologies and going for commercial production.
The Minister also urged the Central government to set up a full fledged modern disease diagnostic centre in the North Eastern Region to diagnose exotic diseases early and prevent loss of animals due to spread of diseases in the region.
The focus areas of the expo were livestock, aquaculture and fisheries, poultry, meat processing and dairying and its scope in the north eastern region. The expo also showcased latest technologies and innovations in animal breeding and reproduction, feed production, aquaculture, dairy and poultry developments and value addition.
