Former President of Indian National Congress and the current Member of Parliament from Wayanad, Karela visited Assam on Sunday 14th February at 12pm.
The Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi Visited Sivsagar Assam on Sunday 14th February to participate on their campaign “AxomBachaoAhok”
AxomBachaoAhok is an Assamese sentence which translates to Let’s save Assam. For their this campaign congress has organized 4 Bus Yatras.
The chairperson of the party’s campaign committee MP Pradyut Bordoloi has stated that with this bus yatra the top leaders of the party will fan out into the remotest corners of the state and will discuss with people of those area regarding their problems.
The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Sivsagar for the same reason to address the public as well as the party leaders and workers at the Boarding Filed of Sivsagar.
Rahul Gandhi started his speech with “Jai Ai Axom” he addressed the people of assam as well as the other regional leaders of Congress. He wore an Assamese Gamcha on which “CAA” was written and it was crossed with red marker showing his support against the Citizenship Ammendment Act of the present government.
He believes BJP is trying to divide Assam by bringing CAA so that BJP can loot Assam as much as possible. He also talked about the low income of tea-workers, farmers and labourers of Assam. He believes bringing them up is the only way of development. He promises to increase their income if Congress government is formed in Assam in the upcoming election.
The motive of this campaign is to showcase the failures of BJP and to save Assam from these failures thus the name “AxomBachaoAhok”
The party initiated the “AxomBachaoAhok” busyatra from Bordua, the birthplace of MahapurushSirmantaSankardev in Nagaon district on Friday.
