The benefits of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University, more significant and the shot should be approved for use of senior citizen said by World Health Organization panel.
Meanwhile recommendations on the shot, the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunisation (SAGE) panel said “the vaccine should be given in two doses, within gap of around 8-12 weeks between first and second doses”
SAGE also said that even where questions have been raised about the vaccine’s efficacy against a South African variant of the coronavirus, “there is no reason not to recommend its use”.
South Africa this week paused the vaccination of AstraZeneca because they didn’t get the proper data of the efficiency of AstraZeneca vaccine.
The vaccination have been started almost all over the India, Covishield and Covaxin are the two vaccine which got the emergency approval few days back, Covaxin is India’s indigenous COVID-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech which is developed in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV).
The Union Health Ministry said on Thursday. India became the fastest country in the world to reach the 4 million COVID-19 vaccination mark.
