World Music Day 2023 was celebrated at the Hard Rock Cafe Guwahati on June 21, 2023, with the participation of numerous youngsters from Guwahati and music enthusiasts from across the country. The event commenced with a series of six performances by talented kids and teenagers, who showcased their skills in various genres including local music, Hindi music, pop, folk, and rock. They mesmerized the audience with their performances accompanied by a diverse range of musical instruments. This initiative was highly appreciated by the audience, as it marked the revival of World Music Day celebrations after the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music industry.
The main objective of this event was to establish a platform in Guwahati that would be more accessible to artists from the Northeast region. Mr. Pankaj Gogoi, representing Redlemon Group, shared the mission and vision of the program, emphasizing the importance of supporting and promoting artists from the region. The stage was graced by remarkable performers such as Cymatix, Saurik Dhar, From the past, Mr. Ashim Kalita, Shosingha, Issac and Marlyn, Kanishk Choudhary and Dhairya Choudhary/DK Boys on music, Bamboozle, and several other talented singers. Their performances left the audience captivated and enthralled.
To further elevate the celebration, guest bands took the stage, delivering electrifying performances of classic rock and roll music. Bands like Jupiter Island, Travellers, Colossal Corps, and SKD showcased their own original compositions as well as cover songs. The collaboration of a few singers with these bands like Mr.Hridoy Goswami from Spreading Roots added another dimension to the performances, creating an unforgettable musical experience.
In addition to celebrating the power of music, the World Music Day Community also took the opportunity to raise awareness about early detection and prevention of cancer in Guwahati and other prominent towns in Northeast India. This noble cause received support from Hard Rock Cafe and Audi Guwahati, with the event being organized by passionate musicians and music lovers of Guwahati, under the initiative led by Redlemon Group and startup companies.Their collective efforts aimed to contribute towards a healthier and safer life for everyone in the community.
